About Dr. Louis Lei Jin, DAOM, C.Ac, Dipl. Ac (NCCAOM):

Dr. Louis is a WI state licensed and nationally board NCCAOM certified acupuncturist since 2007, he is currently practicing in the West Allis location and can be reached via email (aceacup@gmail.com).

Born into a family of three generations of scholars and doctors in Hangzhou, China, Louis' maternal grandfather was the student of famed pioneering Western surgeon in China, Dr. Kefei Shen, his paternal grandfather Prof. Songshou Jin was a famed Chemist who was on the Nobel Prize of Chemistry list before passing away in the late 1990's for his contribution to Selective intermolecular force, and his uncle Prof. Guantao Jin is a famed philosopher and historian who inspired the 1989 Tiananmen Student Democracy movement. Since an early age, Louis has been fascinated with and immersed by acupuncture or medical books all around the home as both of Louis's parents are acupuncturists, his father, Dr. Guanyuan Jin, an accomplished medical acupuncturist(over 50 yrs of clinical experience) founded one of the earliest acupuncture clinics in Milwaukee (76th St at North Ave of Wauwatosa) in 1989s. Aimed to carry forward the family tradition and follow the lineage of a Chinese physician family, Louis spent winter and summer breaks to help out the senior Dr. Jin and help interact with patients and their relatives at the clinic.

After earning Bachelor and Master degrees in Computer Science & Software Engineering respectively, Louis decided to continue studies and began formally apprentice under his father, it was during this time he met many local acupuncturist (many are still active) who either sought out Dr. Jin for advice while setting into their new clinics or began as patients of Dr. Jin and were inspired by him to go to school and later become acupuncturists themselves. Many of them also become good friends with Louis as he was the main liaison front-desk person, even include a few past presidents of WISCA. Louis and his wife Amber (a graduate of Guangzhou Univ. of Chinese Medicine) later both obtained their acupuncture licenses in 2006 and began their private practice in West Allis, WI in 2008. In Feb, 2011, Louis was named as Best Herbalist from a survey of 300 health professionals by Milwaukee Magazine. His expertise in TCM is treating infertility, sports injuries, endocrine diseases, dermatological conditions and oncology issues. In 2015, due to his increasing higher reputation among Chinese acupuncturists, Louis was voted into a member of the Standing Committees of both Specialty Committees of Endocrine and External Cancer Therapy of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. Also, many professional athletes such as US professional speed skater Mathew Lints, former MLB player Prince Fielder, current NBA player Luc Richard Mbah a Mout e- all came to Louis to be seen to either speed up their rehabilitation of injuries or to avoid surgeries. In his spare time, Louis enjoys giving back to the greater community in Milwaukee as he often teaches medical Tai Chi / Qigong lectures or various self-healing exercises to a wide arrange of local organizations. Louis also has experience in dealing with large associations and organizations as he served as a director of communication and membership development committee of Society of Chinese American Professors and Scientists (SoCAPS) and was the former webmaster of Association of Chinese Scientists and Engineers (ACSE). In addition to his full daily clinical schedule, Louis also likes to write papers, translate books and produce A/Vs, to date, Louis has co-authored or translated 2 medical books (Chinese to English), 6 books/charts, 8 papers, and produced 18 instructional videos, short-films or DVD movies, his representative works are "Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, 2007", "The Art and Science of Acupuncture (Illustrated Guide) - An Integrative Exploration of Oriental Medicine, 2006 ", "Clinical Reflexo-Acupuncture (Chinese), 2004 ","Self-Healing with Chinese Medicine, 2003 ", "Whole Body Reflex Charts, 1998", "The Principles of Systems Medicine, 2018”. In 2006, aimed to become an even well-rounded Chinese physician, Louis went back to school as he now spends 4 days of every month and commutes 7 hours one way to American Academy of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (AAAOM) in Roseville, MN for their monthly DAOM program, and because of his leadership skills, became the head of the inaugural DAOM class....
